First Canadian Thanksgiving in Dominica

Well, we had fun.

We had 16 people - some Canadian and some American that we deigned to invite. We had a turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, etc.. and pumpkin pie with real whipped cream for dessert - just like in Canada.

We did have to endure a couple of questions from some Americans, like - what do Canadians celebrate? Duh??

The other good question was - do you celebrate pilgrims? Uh, no............

That was interesting. We explained that we celebrate the harvest.

At least we can say that we have enlightened a few. Good thing.

It was fun. I made a lovely cinnamon cake with the two kinds of banana jam - the regular and the dark chocolate one. They wanted something other than pumpkin pie that Mary made.
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving - give thanks for what you have and the people with whom you have it.
Love to all
D.
